FAQ
Frequently asked questions
If your question isn't answered here, just message me on Telegram.
How do I sign up for a trip?
Message me on Telegram — I'll tell you what's coming up, answer your questions and hold a place for you. Every trip is announced on the channel first.
What does the price include?
It depends on the trip. The price usually covers logistics, accommodation and guiding. Entry tickets to castles, caves and nature reserves are paid separately unless stated otherwise. Food is always at your own expense.
How big are the groups?
I aim for groups of ten and up, and they almost always fill. There is no upper limit — I will take anyone who wants to come. Places go quickly, so it is worth writing early.
Is there a student discount?
Yes, on hikes in Czechia. The student rate is usually 100–200 CZK below the standard one; the exact figure is in each announcement.
Where do we meet?
At a Prague metro station — most often Hlavní nádraží, Černý Most, Roztyly, Dejvická or Střížkov. The exact spot and time are always in the announcement.
How difficult are the routes?
Every trip states its difficulty: easy, moderate or hard. A typical day route is 10–14 km on forest and hill trails. If you're unsure, write to me and I'll suggest something that fits.
What should I bring?
Comfortable trail shoes, water, a snack and clothing for the weather. Warm layers and a hat for winter mountains, a torch for mines and caves. Anything specific I'll remind you about before we set off.
How do we get around?
By bus, train or car depending on the route — most often by bus. Trips abroad may involve a flight plus rented cars. The method is always stated in the announcement.
Are there free hikes?
Yes. There are regular free walks around Prague — Divoká Šárka, Prokopské údolí, Průhonice. They're an easy way to meet the group before going somewhere further.
Do you run trips abroad?
Yes, and often. So far: Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Albania, Greece, Jordan and Iceland. These trips run from two days to a week.
Can I join if I don't speak Russian?
Yes. English-language trips are one of the project's main directions right now. Write to me and we'll find a trip where the group speaks English.
I'd be coming on my own — is that fine?
Completely. Most people come on their own, and meeting new people is half the point of the whole thing.
